It's not zoom. takes resolution size from render view sometimes. Need to resize or close open LV.ASyme1 wrote:Well as long as we're on bugs...
I've had an annoying but I need to complain about. Working with the LV sometimes out of the blue the view "blows up". It's as though the camera suddenly zooms in. Very annoying. I have to close it and open a new one and it's fine. I'm seeing it not just on my machine but most of my guys are having the same problem. This is with the LV docked or not.
Anyone else have this odd behavior?
thanks-

1-it's not material convertion as you think. Possibly you have C4D shader and takes ages to render internally due a problem.shawnfrueh wrote:Hey Aoktar,
I'm getting an annoying bug with Octane. Randomly the "Convert material" starts converting and locks up cinema(Run this on a separate thread than the main). The Material converter Should Not run unless a material has been changed. And in doing so should only update the active material being edited.
Another bug I wish could be fixed is when copying a mix material to another scene it also grabs the materials connected to it.
2-It's not a plugin problem. C4D does not support this

Yes - had this a couple of times today. Had to resize the LV to fix it. One time C4D was gone, needed to restart it.

I noticed this behavior, too. Simple solution for me is to press the "lock resolution" button twice... then it is fine again in most situations.Ron wrote:ASyme1 wrote:Well as long as we're on bugs...

Aoktar,
I've found an other bug:
Displacement isn't visible in the material preview.
Thanks

I think it's not yet implemented.

hey aoktar. since working in c4d with a second monitor and a two-screen user-startup-layout, everytime i open the octane-settings they pop up in a tiny window that i have to resize everytime i use it. see the screenshot. is this problem known? or is it a setup mistake i did with my screens and c4d-layout?

i have two monitor. Hard to say exact words. It's still a mistery for me. Something is not easy in c4d like setting the sizes of dialogs.momade wrote:hey aoktar. since working in c4d with a second monitor and a two-screen user-startup-layout, everytime i open the octane-settings they pop up in a tiny window that i have to resize everytime i use it. see the screenshot. is this problem known? or is it a setup mistake i did with my screens and c4d-layout?

Hey there,
Just a quick query about displacements.
In v2.02 Large displacements would hide polygons in some areas around edges... and now in 2.04 i get black areas which would have been invisible before. Ideally i'd prefer to keep polygons and have them take a clamped or mirrored color from the material. Would this be a possibility.
Also is this cause because of normals.. i,e am i seeing black because I'm seeing the back of the polygon?
Thanks for the great work,
BTW its currently being used on a big, soon to air, Music Awards night here in L.A. Will share with you when its public.
Thanks, R

Octane devs has worked hard for fixes on displacement since 2.00, for every versions. You can read differences in standalone threads. Some old versions had several performance problems and visual artifacts. 2.04 and 2.05 should has best. Anyway it's very sensitive to welding vertexs and smoothing angles of polygons. That's my words which can be said without seeing images.Raoul wrote:Hey there,
