You said to us the new option render elements with pass renders?
Where are they on octane render for 3ds max ?

Its currently possible to save out a number of passes, ie zdepth, object ID, AO etc however these need to be rerendered (found under Kernal Type\info channel. They dont automatically get generated during the main pass.
It think lack of passes and matting would have to be Octanes biggest shortcoming.
