I guess Poser 2 is available now.
I assume you are referring to OctaneRender for Poser - yes.
Is 99 euros the SALE upgrade price? { do I have to upgrade standalone too ? }
That's the price to upgrade Octane Standalone, which give you a free plugin upgrade for a limited time.
1. Is octane poser 2 FASTER than 1.20?
1.2 is slower than 1.5 and 2.0.
2 Does it still use the same amount of RAM?
Yes
3 Are all the control panels the same? Can they be customized at all?
They are the same.
4 If I wait, can I get poser octane 2.0 with the HDR in a cheaper package? Does HDR studio do animation?
HDR Light Studio is a separate package that you purchase from Lightmap. You cannot animate lights in HDR Light Studio - it's a static HDR map.
why do I need it?
Not sure which package you are referring to here.

There is no price list - it's one price - to upgrade Octane 1.5 to 2.0 is 100 euros.

Not sure what that improvements all about? Didnt we have hdr already? Not sure i ever touched it.

Does that HDR studio plugin do animation?

It looks like render region would interest me.

and motion blur. Do I have to use NODES for motion blur - as in the pic at your link?

Random Color Texture

can Random Color Texture be used mixed with an image map?

I thought I read some post about RAM usage being a software fixable improvement. I guess
thats the future?

Didnt we have hdr already? Not sure i ever touched it.
If you watch the video - it demonstrates teh HDR Light Studio integration.

No
Do I have to use NODES for motion blur - as in the pic at your link?
No - just click Export Animation, and then load the resulting ORBX file into Octane Standalone and render.

Random Color Texture only applies to scattered object materials - and is a number between 0 and 1. So it doesn't work with image maps.

PC windows7 64 bit + poser 10 32 bit:
i have installed OctaneRender 2.04 64bit
and then OctaneRender for Poser 2.5.2.23 32bit for poser 10.
Now, when i try to open poser i have this message and the plugin in not loaded

"This pz3 file was saved with prior version of OctaneRender for Poser, and save of the saved setting may not be compatible with the current plugin vesrion.

whats happen ?

This pz3 file was saved with prior version of OctaneRender for Poser, and save of the saved setting may not be compatible with the current plugin vesrion.
The message says it all. You have opened a pz3 saved with a previous version of the plugin - so this is a warning to check things like texturemap scales are correct.

The scene is the first when open poser its empty no prop no figure but only the ground

i dont see the octane plugin under poser render menu

In preferences, try clicking on the button Set Preferred Scene as the old scene might be the problem that triggers the message.

if i try to install OctaneRender for Poser 1.5 the install work fine but 2.0 nope

Sorry - the correct current version is 2.5.2.23 - so I have updated the top post in this thread.

Are you able to provide all the info requested at the top of this thread pls? Windows 32 or 64 bit, Nvidia driver version, octaneplugin.log file etc.
