Okay, I'm guessing the temporary HDR map in the demo is virtual...cause I can't find it physically present anywhere on my HD when everything is up and running.
Righclick the Settings tab tree, "Print Save Info", scroll up the python window to the "environment" node, and you can see the full path of the image.

I really like HDR Light Studio!

But, has anyone else noticed how grainy the renders are from the lorez maps (demo version)? Or am I doing something wrong? I definitely need the real deal if so...

Hi,

sorry, but Im confused what this does.

1 Does this do animation? { I couldn't find it in the manual }

why do I need it?

2. Where is a price list of getting up to speed? On this addon + poser octane?

3 Im using 1.20 now.

I dont understand what version of POSER OCTANE is newest now. Also why do I need to
upgrade poser octane?

I know there is a sale now, but for what?

Where is a MASTER upgrade price list, with features?

thanks.

Essentially the update provides a link between OctaneRender for Poser and HDR Light Studio Pro.
HDR Light Studio pro is a lighting solution that let's you create HDRis for lighting your scene on the fly and see the results directly in the viewport.

To me this means I can now light a scene like I can in a photo-studio as lights can be moved, power can be adjusted, even the light color can be changed all on the fly dynamically in the viewport of OctaneRender. It's much more immediate then lighting was before in OctaneRender.

The most recent version of the OctaneRender for Poser plug-in is 2.5.2.23 and it can be downloaded here http://render.otoy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=40425, provided you upgraded your OctaneRender license to a 2.x one through your customer center.

OctaneRender 2.x introduces numerous new features for the renderer such as displacement mapping, motion blur, network rendering, alembic support and many more. If you purchased a license for 1.x you can still upgrade your OctaneRender to 2.x until August 11th for 99 € and get an update for the Poser plug-in for free with it. After August 11th the Standalone will be more expensive and the Poser plug-in update will b 149 €.

You can check prices here: http://render.otoy.com/shop/index.php

Hope this helps :)

Initially you will need a license for HDR Light Studio, however Lightmap may consider releasing a Poser plugin only version of HDR Light Studio, which may be at a lower price, but it will be a few weeks before any info on this will be available.
Has you any new information? For me HDR Light Studio (at this Moment as Demo) and Poser works fine. Particularly with the new TGX Wet Shader.

I may be doing something wrong, but I think when using HDRLS demo, the renders come out grainly looking (because of the very lorez HDR maps...maybe?)

I too am waiting on news (hopefully) about the 'special' pricing for Poser users. I WANT the full version of Light Studio!!!

Otherwise, HDRLS Demo works fine for me as well! :D

I am still talking to the Lightmap people regarding how a Poser version of HDR Light Studio can be made available. Sorry - no news yet.

And yes, the demo version is lo-rez, so you would get the size needed for the quality you want.

This is an HDRi-pack we readied up to celebrate the release of our new RedSpec TGX Wet Beta shaders.

We decided to offer those as a humble-bundle meaning that you only pay what you feel these are worth to your creative work.
Resolution is 3K and they were specifically made to bring out the best in RedSpec TGX Beta inside Poser / OctaneRender.

However - they'll work with any program that can process HDRi.
