Hi Aoktar
I've juste purchased Octane and I don't get it.
With c4d shader I don't see any modifications in the material preview window.

It worked in the demo version.
Is that normal ?

Thanks

ps: I'm running octane on c4d r14 with a k4000 and the ndvia drivers 340.52

strange. in my case it starts lagging already when having 5-7 textures selected. in my case ALL image-textures are used only once, meaning that they dont repeat in different materials and they are ALL saved in subfolders of the main 'tex' folder by object. i.e. in tex/cucumber you would find 1highres dif-texture, 1 highres spec-texture, 1 highres rougness-texture and 1 highres normal- or bump-texture.

could I ask you Win 7 64-guys which
nvidia drivers you are using?

Beside octane problems with OGL in earlier versions
I think it could also be a driver issue.

I'm still having problems with hangons etc.
With 2.04.1 its getting better, but still not
really satisfying!
Most problems I had with the newest nvidia versions 40....
I now switched back to 3523 but I'm still not happy.

Is there a tested driver version which performs best?

pls try version from first page. It's different from you. Are you still using multi cpu for C4D shaders? Why don't give me some feedback?

Hi Ahmet,

I gave you some feedback via PM! Didn't I?
Sorry if not - maybe it was'nt sent!

I'm actual using "this" version with multi-cpu set to "1" like you said.
I was able to open again and work with my project with this new version, but
I'm recognizing still some issues with material-previews and some lags.
But no more brutal hangons like I got before! :D

So I thought, maybe the nvidia driver could be responsible?

yes you did. But your previous message is completely confusing here. You are still saying there is hangons. You should be more clear on your post. What kind of hangon/hanups and when operation causes this? Which issues? If you don't be more clear and exact, i'll completely ignore these reports.

yes, this is more logical. Very big textures. I'll check if there is some issue on previews.

Hi Ahmet,

sorry! Meant "lags" not hangons. Its more an overall
issue on my system which does not run smoothly.
And sometimes I'm still getting these grey material previews.
But nothing serious since 2.04.1.
So I thought it could be a driver problem.

In actual fact I just wanted to ask about nvida driver version.
whats wrong with that?

gray preview is caused by my mistake on c4d shader things. I'm checking now this sections.
when do you get this lags? While editing material or working on Live Viewer? This still not give me any idea.
is it related with gpu priority?
Did you try to change "sync with geo. updates" option?
