C4D shader's issue is a big headache here. I'll release a maintance version as soon as possible. TRY to set cpu cores=1 atm.
Freezes are maybe C4D Shader related? I'll try to do without and check if freeze won't come back then. Thanks.

Works just fine now with 2.04.1.aoktar wrote:I have always Octane is on my layout. can you post some more info? Need some screen shots or capture, also some some console outputalexmunteanu wrote:Hi,
I'm getting a strange behavior with both 2.03 and 2.04 versions.
After I close a project and reopen it, Cinema 4D freezes. I have set a custom layout for Octane (start up layout) and another one for general usage.
It seems that if the start up layout has the Octane windows opened Cinema will freeze if you open a project but not if you're starting from scratch.
If I open any Octane project with another layout set as start up layout everything works well and I can open Octane windows afterwards.
Version 2.02 seems to work well though...
If it helps... I have updated the nvidia driver to latest version.
I apologies if this issue has been reported and answered before!
Thanks,
Alex
Thank you!

still in 2.04 there is a tiny bug. in the 'octane dialog' sometimes on the right under 'chn:' it sais 'DL', even if in the settings 'PT' is selected, and 'pt' is rendering in the 'life viewer window'..
also sometimes after changing the maxsamples in the settings and reopen the settings-window( for example to check back on samples) the old value reapperas.

Now I have again the old issue from 2.02 if I recall, when I can't render more than one frame.
I attached a screenshot and a log. The log has 2.04 version from what I see, but that version crashes C4D from time to time during rendering (about 4-5 times in the last ~20hrs) and I just switched to 2.04.1

as im working on a massive commercial project with more than 150 different, partially very heavy materials i found a bug. when highlighting many materials in the material manager c4d starts to responde whith massive lags. every click needs 10-40 sekonds to react. after deselecting the materials in the material manager the lag is gone.
i realized after copy-pasting a massive part of my scene to a new file. all pasted material get highlighted in the material manager autmotically and the almost deadly lag was produced. took me some time to find out where it came from.
already highlighting 20 materials produces plenty of lag...

ok, i'm selecting 10-20 materials together. Any problems is not seems here. What's special on yours?momade wrote:as im working on a massive commercial project with more than 150 different, partially very heavy materials i found a bug. when highlighting many materials in the material manager c4d starts to responde whith massive lags. every click needs 10-40 sekonds to react. after deselecting the materials in the material manager the lag is gone.

well. i guess it only starts laging, when materials with big image-textures in diff+spec+transp are highlighted...ok, i'm selecting 10-20 materials together. Any problems is not seems here. What's special on yours?
@momade how many and how big textures? I tried a 170+ material scene with 120 1-4k textures and can select them all at the same time without lagging.
Paths are still not shown but Octane seems to know them anyway.
Strange thing. All 3 Octane windows and palettes are in my layout, including the settings. Settings do show low standard with unchecked parameters, even when a scene is loaded. In the very moment I select Octane Settings from the menu, the settings in the integrated layout switch to the ones I have chosen for the scene. I can delete the settings from the layout and integrate it again, but the same is happening.dinf wrote:Loosing Octane Settings in 2.03 and 2.04 is already mentioned? It applies to Device Priorities and Paths wich get lost every C4D start. The presets do not remember these settings, too.
