I just wanted to convert an old landspace scene I once made to
octane to experiment with the new displacement.
The geometry of my landscape in the background is camera mapped
and so I noticed for the first time, that the 3dsmax "camera map per pixel" map
isn´t working in an octane material.
Any chance this feature will be compatible with octane anytime, or will there
be another way to use camera mapping in octane inside 3dsmax?

The camera map modifiers work, is this an option that works for you.
The camera map modifier is only one of the things needed.
I have an animation. So I created a camera giving more overview over the landscape,
made a hudge render wit simple materials and overpainted it.
Now I choose this overview-camera in the camera map modifier. But for the right UV-projection
of the matte painting onto the landscape you need to have the "camera map per pixel" map
in your material, where you can choose the overview camera also. Otherwise it doesn´t work.
