Hi, Anyone had this issue since trying to get V2 plugin up and running??

Getting this error on C4D startup:

"ERROR 1:Tried to start DLL more than once"

C4D loads but crashes easily. Octane plugin visible in menu. (crashes c4d as soon as clicked on)

I have got V2 standalone working and deleted v1 plugin for c4d plugs.

R15 Studio
Mac OS 10.9.3
GTX 680, CUDA 6.0.46

this mean there is a few c4doctane.dll/dylib on directory. Please check it and remove wrong dll/dylib's.
Best is to remove all plugin data before copying new files and please read readme.txt

2 questions though...(hate to sound ungrateful but...)

1) Any idea when motion blur for displaced objects/hair will come?

2) How far along will the full blown multi-pass system be here with reflection/shadows etc?...

-Motion blur should work on displaced objects, isn't?
-Hair and motion blur is development.

-Multipass is under development, also i have a test version. I think will be there with a update, but i can't give a date.

Aoktar... what are you saying here. Do you mean that upcoming After Effects plugin I had read about in the Otoy blog is something you are working on? Can you let us know any more anything more about this plugin for AE? I would love to be able to render C4D scenes directly inside AE using Octane Render, similar to cineware, but of course you can't use third party renderers with cineware.

Yes, it's that. It will allow to import/render the orbx/ocs/abc and obj files directly in After effects.
With many additions. But, it's early to share more details.

I'd very interested in this AE plugin, more so then the Cinema 4D plugin. I primarily do motion graphics work and use Element 3D a lot for it's speed working directly inside of AE. Of course there are massive limitations like no shadows/reflections, GI. Depending on the speed of interactivity with this, I could see this plugin as a great motion graphics tool + Element 3D alternative.

i can see the potential. I have lot ideas to implement. 2d/3d element connections, direct compositing of passes and much more. I like to hear more ideas from AE users. Also i like to work some AE guys which are eager. But i need some time to start a beta period. Please keep me connected

Hi Ahmet,

I can confirm that motion blur on a displacement object only work with Camera and Position/Rotation/Scale motion. Not for full vertex deformation (ie. character work) Still a very good first effort, but it would be nice to get this to work for deformations too.

Great news on multi-pass development. This is very exciting for professional composting work.
