Yeah I know this, but it doesn't mean that any future versions will work with older data(we would like to assume but that's not safe)... I asked this directly and did not get a reply so unless there is an official statement who knows whats going to happen.

I hope 1.5 or whatever does actually support the old materials as promised, but who knows if that is going to happen either. I've been sticking with 1.1 for now.

I just read a thread over in the DAZ Commons today that the Look At My Hair guys are working on making their plugin work with the new Octane hair. Someone asked if they are working with the DAZ-Octane plugin maker and they hinted they are. Perhaps that is another reason why we are waiting.

This was confirmed by t_3 months ago and not a good reason to hold anything up frankly... But thanks for sharing.

T_3 is a good guy, but unfortunately our wait will be *very* long.

Just want to give you guys a update on T_3, the 1.5/2.0 plugin

T_3 is working very hard on the new plugin (6 days a week). If I hear anything else I will keep you posted

That's the second cryptic update you've posted about t_3's progress. Many of us would dearly love an update from the horses mouth so to speak. So if you're in touch with t_3 (maybe a beta tester?) and if the updates are more than a month away please ask t_3 to let us know. Because then I'll stop wasting my time checking the site every day if I know the updates are not coming any time soon.

If you know that it will be July or August until the plugin is ready PLEASE TELL US!!!

I am really so tired of checking in to the forum every day in the hopes that the plugin or at least some official statement is posted.

On the one hand I still believe that T_3 may surprise us all and a release could be days away.
But after everything I experienced between June 2013 and February 2014 I would also not be surprised if this summer passes without release as it happend in 2013.

If the plugin is a month away then users can use that time

- to either invest time to learn the standalone
- purchase and learn another software / plugins
- postpone any plans for image and animation projects they had until fall
- take their holidays now
- or do whatever they think is appropriate to deal with the current situation

So please let us know what is going on so we can change and adjust our plans!
I hope we will get some news soon even if it's not what I want to hear which is a release asap. I'd rather know now that it will take a lot longer. The development teasers from t_3 awhile back and then silence for months isn't helpful. I think that if a release was due in the next couple of weeks there'd have been some kind of announcement by now so I don't hold out much hope unfortunately.

I think T_3 is a good guy as well, but I'll be honest: I'd rather have him cut the useless experiments and focus on a strong stable version of the plugin ( talking about the 2.0 version here ).

Sure, everything that was shown is interesting and I may end up using it at some point in the future. But what is needed now is first to have T_3 communicate with his customers ( I'd be out of business if I were to handle my work communications like that ) and then, support the Octane 2.0 new features that are essential ( displacement, motion blur, region rendering, hdri+sky ).

I may be in the minority here since I use this plugin+Octane for my work almost every day but what I need is a stable plugin that doesn't hang Studio out of the blue so often. He needs to focus on delivering a strong stable barebone, and most importantly he needs to deliver.

Some years ago I had a subscription website and I know how easily it is to wrongly focus on the nice stuff. But reality quickly kicked back: customers want a strong/stable/fast experience first before even wishing for some bells and whistles.

Please T_3, communicate more frequently ( at this point, just communicating would be a huge step in the right direction ), even just to post a quick update and deliver a strong plugin without all the unnecessary stuff. I check the website every single day, and at some point, I'm wondering if buying a Ouija board would be more effective at getting some information...

Keep up the good work mate though :)
