Is it possible to load material info from DUF files I apply to a model after loading? I can see that the Octane info is in the duf file, I just can't get the materials in.
"Create from embedded data" reloads the data in the original model file, not the applied material.

It is definitely possible but I think it is also bugged a bit. Basically for me, whenI try it with DUF presets I create for my materials to use with OC plugin I have to load different preset for the same object and then the OC one. Otherwise the OC plugin somehow does not recognize that the OC material settings changed.

So sometimes a little persuation is required but it works.

I really don't understand that :D

Why do you have multiple DUF's? How do you make DUF just with octane info? How do you get the plugin to read the Octane info? I'm feeling a little dumb, but I really don't know which buttons to press here

(I'm on the latest version of the plugin)

Why multiple DUFs? Well, because in each one you can save different material settings - just like for any object in DAZ where you have multiple choices for - let's say lips or eyes color etc.

In the latest verison of OC plugin it is actually really simple to save the OC material setting into a DUF. All you have to do is to set the materials the way you want them in the OC plugin and then in DAZ you select File / Save As / Material Preset select some file name for it and then you just click which material zones you want to include in the DUF file.

If you do the above then next time you add the same object to the scene, all you need to apply the OC material settings to it is to doubleclick the saved DUF file.

The saved DUF contains both DAZ and OC material info. I'm not really sure that it is possible to strip the DAZ portion and I do not really care that much as I'm using OC plugin to work with materials which many times means that in the DAZ viewport all most of the objects are just plain untextured geometries :)

I've got all that, but how when I do it, the materials aren't applied in the plugin. I thought you were having daz materials in one duf, and octane in another :D

For som reason it works now, no idea what was going on when I tried it last time :D
