Just go through with the purchase and it does not charge you, even though it says 39.00. There is a bit at the bottom of the screen that actually says you will not be charged if you purchased the standalone upgrade to 2.0 recently. This is how it went for me anyway.

Something wrong. From my Paypal account disappeared 39.00 euro after upgrading C4D 2.00 plugin I did not expect it.

Anyone could explain how upgrade works ,

I'm wondering what happen if I upgrade to v2.xx
will I still be able to use old version 1.54 ??
at least for a while ? until v2 will be stable and optimised,
or I have to purchase both ?

I have heard about "slow down" and I'm not sure
how it goes on mine config.

I don't see how that could happen? You have to login to your paypal account at the checkout and actually authorise each payment no?

Yes, but I don`t seen any messages on my PayPal account page about free upgrade if you buy 2.00 standalone version. I`ll check my credit card invoice again, but I already have message from PayPal bot.

Same problem here with paying for upgrade.. I get the 39 euro cost and it wants me to pay with PayPal and no info re you will not be charged.
