Hi all,

I will monitor this as well...
I played with a little animation today, rendered 125 frames several times and after having seen your post I've checked my memory consumption and I had a 16Gb pagefile and 4gb of ram used (not flushed after having quit XSI and Octane). Strange.

What about the non-smooth look of the sphere? I've been getting this also. Do we have to use millions of polys to make round objects look smooth in Octane? A bad workflow issue for the exporter is that I have to convert my subD models to polygon, but even then, I'm not making nearly enough poly to get a smooth look.

When I installed the new stable Octane 2.2 this morning I tried the softimage plugin that comes with it. It is not working but instead I have to set the "old" RC3 in the exporter to be able to export the scene. When I choose the stable release it won´t accept it and the space in the form remains empty. Anything I can do about it?

I agree and I'm getting nasty shading/reflection errors if I turn the smoothing on this material.
But it is a very basic material as I haven't bothered too much, this scene purpose was to test multipass rendering between Octane and Mental Ray (motion vectors, Zdepth).
I think we should wait a bit and see what face comes up with his new .obj exporter.

On the contrary in this other scene I've got perfectly smoothed spheres....
