I have the same issue. Also when I add a material from the live db and it crashes, no matter what I try the plugin does not recognize any geometry from that scene. Even if I reload everything after I restart the cpu, it doesn't work. I also tried to crate a new scene with a primitive object, which does render, and then merge the previous scene that crashed. The weird thing is that the only thing that appears in the vew-port is the primitive geometry, even though you can see the entire scene in Daz. The only option is to recreate the scene, but after a couple of times I just give up and use the standalone.

It's not so bad for me, sometimes it works for a longer session, and at other times it's really bad, locking up instantly.
There's been a LOT of updates to DAZ Studio itself recently, that might also be breaking something.
My version is 4.6.1.39.

I can still work in the plugin dialogs, the render window just doesn't respond to changes anymore. Nothing happens when I press Reload, Clay, Lock/Unlock or Final or close and reopen the window.
This happens to me a lot (Win7), and it seems to be a bigger problem with the most recent update (but without the update DS was crashing with G2F a lot). I've gotten into the habit of saving the scene file every few changes, because you never know when it will happen, and sometimes causes DS to completely crash. When the viewport "hangs", or I start getting the Octane windows disappearing, I save (if I haven't), close DS, and restart. It's a real pian, and makes working with the plugin a lot more difficult, but it does work.

I was curious, so I exported a scene and worked in Octane standalone for about 3 hours with no problems at all, so it is definitely something with the plugin. Using the stand alone would be a possible option, but rebuilding the shaders and putting the texture maps back on everything is a lot of axtra work

I got a crash when using the NGE, do you want me to send you the crash report ?

NVM I see there is an update, I'll try that first.

Loving the update. I was able to load and render a scene that I couldn't before. I am excited to try out all the new options. Thanks! :D

OcDS hangs when rendering complex scene. About 5 figures and several props. Daz renderer woks fine with scene but once I select Oc, DS hangs and I have to kill task.

what gpu/amount of vram do you have? sounds much like you are running out of vram...

Greetings,

Recently i have lot of crash when i add a Plane (who are glossy by default) and put them in diffuse (to add emission/blackbody) to add a light. Is look like violation xxx module. (sorry i do not have saved the details of crash).

hi!

hard to track down without a crash report; anyway: working on and with the 1.5 api i could sort out some clunky code that is no longer necessary for internal content handling (as this can now be achieved with octane's own methods), so the stability should be again improved with the next update.

btw, the fastest way to set up an emitter is to right-click the particular surface entry in the daz tree and select "create as new light source > simple / textured / ies" - this will replace the current material with a completely set up emitter material (diffuse + external emitter node, plus additional image node for textured/ies types)...
