strange reflections...?!

Hi there,

in this scene is a Object with glass-material and some Lights around...

The reflections on the Glass-Object looks strange and "stairish"...


whats wrong..?

hi, maybe is related to the normal direction or intersections of different geometry :roll:
you can try to switch to the info kernel for some check or prepare a simple scene to share with us ;)

hi, in octane you need to add thickness to your glass, otherwise the geometry reacts as big lens with his volume full of glass ;)
i have added an cloth-nurb so you can easily change the thikness and still have the ability of subdivide the geometry , i have also enabled the "fake shadow" option in the specula material so the light can easily go through it:

Just turn on the smooth button from the glassmaterial, thats it.
