Hey all,

I've noticed the in the newest version of Octane you can check "Enable Particle Engine" and it renders the particles from X-particle but this does not seem to work for animations. It seems to just render every frame as whatever particles were last in the live viewport instead of animating all of the different particles for each frame.

Does anyone know any ways around this besides using a Generator to generate actual geometry? (this is much slower)

Thanks much in advance!! :)

did you try to give "Octane ObjectTag" and set Mesh no to value different than '0' ?

This should do.

No it doesn't work :(
You can render 1 frame, but can't render an animation. It's the same with an "Octane objectTag" put on the emitter.
As Winkelmm said "it renders every frame as whatever particles were last in the live viewport instead of animating all of the different particles for each frame."

Hi, guys!
Where can I find "Enable Particle Engine" in the Octane 3? Looks like it is not there anymore: http://prntscr.com/bcyjpj
Want to be able to render X-Particles. But now the render works only with Generator object.

Thanks in advance!

It's a removed parameter. Now working via octane object tag. Find xparticles scenes in samples. That's in release thread.

Thank you for prompt response Ahmet! I found where my problem was. I was assigning Octane ObjectTag to the entire xpSystem. And it must be assigned only to the xpEmitter.
Thanks for the help, now it works!
