I can again if you will.
I have. He told me that he contacted the Octane peeps and was waiting for an answer... This was a couple of months ago. Didn't sound very promising though.

Yes, but more procedurals isn't on there :)

I'll survive.

So, a year has gone by since the last post. Any update on more procedural nodes being added? The only geometric one is checks, but it's way too limited to be useful in a variety of archviz scenes.

For my own, I already asked in the past for a good cloud texture like the one available in Blender (Blender or even Perlin, but I prefer Blender's one). It is often required for subtle bump on metal sheets, cars and other kind of surfaces. Currently the closest one available is the Turbulence texture, but it always shows sharp edges and is not the best solution.

There's a lua script available to generate Perlin and Worley noise. It's not as good as a built-in procedural but it's better than nothing:

Thanks for the info, but for what I have seen, they look more like Voronoi textures (cellular) and also show sharp edges... not convenient for subtle bump textures.

I will try them, but I doubt that they will do the job like Cloud texture.

The problem with using any lua script is you are basically creating a texture image. Most people have other programmes they could do that with. I could use lightwwave or Photoshop. What I want, is a procedural generator inside my node tress. Even a good fractal noise would be good for adding other noise to materials. I don't understand why this is not a higher priority to people.

+1 for me too

When you are having to do whatever you can to save memory in octane, procedural textures make all the more sense.

Also I think lua scripts are not available when octane is used as a plugin. I know I can't use it in lightwave.
