Any word on that last crash bug report. Do you know where they keep the rendered files from picture viewer after a crash by any chance?
Thanks
Peter
some question,
didn't activated save option? If you don't there will be no output.
Second, why did you activated AO and GI videopost effects? Octane doesn't need these, i think your problem is that, because we didn't expect any crashes on this kind of scene naturally

I left those AO GI options selected because they had been selected in Cinema and I thought Octane would just ignore them.

I will un-select them ... but does Octane take them into account?

I assumed it would ignore any Cinema native render settings as it is not being used? (My thinking is that if you have some settings selected in the native Cinema renderer and you do some rendering in Octane and some in Cinema for some compositing later you will not have to re-set ideal settings for each. Just a thought.

Do you think that could be causing the crashing on large numbers of frames selected to render... it is trying to do both?

Like a dweeb I forgot to set a save option. I was assuming that if you do that Cinema stores the temporary files somewhere as it lets you save all after they have finished. I just can't find where that is.

From now one I will set a save name and location on anything I do... just hoping I would not have to render out the first set again : > ))

Thanks

This GI and AO videopost functions are completely unfunctional, useless and time consuming. Also can cause to generate some unknown messages for Octane Render process. Especially GI effect.
I'm not sure but you may found some cached images on Maxon folder in your User account directory.
Also i don't thinking any number of frames can cause crashes, if it does, will be very big suprise for me. I have rendered about ten thousand FullHD frames on previous week without any problem.

Thanks as always for prompt reply.
I'll look there.

I am starting to think I may need a fresh system instal... a few other weird things happening unrelated to Octane so I may do that and see what happens

Thanks
