Yes, if you could send the scene to us it would be very helpful.funk wrote:I'm using modo to export alembic and I need to enable "flip face orientation". This works fine on small scenes, but as soon as my scene is a little bigger (about 20MB .abc) octane crashes when I enable "flip face orientation"
EDIT: After doing some scene cleanup (merging verts, removing 2 point polys etc), octane no longer crashes when enabling "flip face orientation". I kept a copy of the .abc that crashes octane if you guys want it

I think you're box is running out-of-memory. Can you monitor the used memory before it crashes? It might be a memory leak in Octane.gardeler wrote:this is the message written in the terminal after octane dissapears.

Thanks for your great work guys!
Sadly i found a vey bad bug! Some Materials can not be downloaded from the live database. For example Materials/Misc/Celtic Knots. Celtic Knots with bumps work on the other side. Some Materials work, some dont. Very weird. Another Example is: Materials/Misc/Capuccino Mosaic V8. Doesnt work too. Many materials seem not to work correctly!
This also happens in the latest C4D Plugin and latest 3ds Max plugin. I tested!
Chris!

Chris!
Try deleting all the files in C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\OctaneRender\cache and then re-download the LiveDb material.Sadly i found a vey bad bug! hi,
first of all, thanks for the constant update
i can't exactly said from which version, i think from 1.27, that i have constantly crashes when i delete some nodes during material creation.
it doesn't happen immediately at the first node deleted, but after some time, if you delete a node, only the name go away, the node is still there, octane freez: and after few seconds it crash. ciao beppe

Same problem!ROUBAL wrote:Thanks for this new release.
First test of this 1.29 release : I have just noticed that RGB color nodes are partially broken : Changing the color by clicking on the colored rectangle and using Saturation/Value, Hue Saturation Box or Hue/Saturation box updates the R,G,B cursors correctly, but adjusting the color by using the R,G,B cursors doesn't update the colored rectangle. The color of the material itself is changed correctly, though. And the color of the sample rectancle is updated if you click on a material on the render window.
The packing unpacking feature seems to work correctly, and the textures files names are kept identical as original files, which is imho the best solution. Thanks !

Hi Thomas
Thanks for your reply.
I will check it if it runs out of ram, but I do not think it does, but I will have a look. If there is an ftp, I can send the alembic to you if you want.
