OcDS keeps crashing - I am working on a fairly large scene with 5 human Genesis figures all dressed with suites. Trying to render results in crash. While working it crashes every five minutes.

Any ideas???

Hi there, these are a few issues I am having that might help you with future updates. This doesn't happen often but my whole system crashes and goes to blue screen. When this happened I was working with high poly models in Daz. Also the plugin seems to leave empty windows open that are noticeable only when moving over the taskbar program icon. Another issue is that the system seems to slow down even after I close the view port. And the last issue is that after making modification to material nodes, it doesn't save after I click the save button. Thanks in advance! :)

a bsod is sthg. pretty heavy and usually happens on driver level - imo it indicates that the system gets out of resources (most notably system ram). can you pls give some details about your system and scenes where this happens (poly count).

they come from the image preview and will be gone in the next update.

you most probably now that, but just to be sure: minimizing the viewport keeps octane rendering, while closing it with X pauses octane; you may use some 3rd party tool to monitor the gpu if this happens like it should.

this sounds a bit strange - what plugin version/build do you work with?
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

Thanks for responding to my post. I have had the chance to figure out a couple of things. It seems that sometimes Daz does not completely close. I have to go into the task manager to terminate it(not sure if it is part of the plugin or Daz's new update). Also when I wasn't able to save the materials, this happened after Daz crashed, it also could be that the amount of textures was way over 144. I have a pc with 8 Gig ram and a Titan. I probably should increase my Ram! Thanks again, I'm looking forward to your next update.

Hi, I just upgraded my system to 16 Gig Ram and now I am able to use Genesis 2 figures with the plugin. I am still having an issue sometimes when adding material from the live DB. But so far the viewport seems to run smoother. Thanks!

Great product but I am unable to use a number of mats from the LiveDB without crashing Daz. Would crash logs help or is this something being fixed in the next revision already?

Does anybody else have issues where DAZ/plugin doesn't exactly crash, but the octane render window just freezes? I get that a lot when playing with materials. I can still work in the plugin dialogs, the render window just doesn't respond to changes anymore. Nothing happens when I press Reload, Clay, Lock/Unlock or Final or close and reopen the window.

Yes that happens to me as well. The render window will not update no matter what setting changes I make, or changes done to the scene. I am forced to save and completely restart Daz.

Im getting that hang.... octane just doesnt do anything in daz... sadly enough I have been switching to Octane for poser when it happens. Its totally odd that it happens to everyone just out of the blue. Well I think its hit everyone cause I know from reading previous posts that I am not alone. I remember restarting to get it working, but its not a good thing to have to go through that.... I fixed Ultimate Unwrap 3d by updating to windows 8.1 media center. And then I turn around and Daz had stopped rendering through octane.. hilarious!
PS ... I tried rendering a blank scene.. still no go...

Im guessing this a security setting with Otoy. By now im sure the daily activation servers are being blown way out of proportion.... well perhaps..

Not sure what else could be causing it.

Is otoy can release a shader for eye colors to be more easily installed. Many would love it.. Im sure of that.
if anyone knows a thread please let me know. changing eyes dont react with Octane but only the default loaaded preset matts with skins... kind of odd. IJS

I'm seeing the stuck render viewport in Win7, so your issue is not (exclusively) from win 8.
