- craped out a bit on these too much glare/bloom.. tryed doing it all with sss on test1.jpg
.. then turned off the external light so most of it comes from the laser/gattling guns as to get dramatic shadowing.. not enough light on SSS requires more fine tuning, so turned everything to glossy later.. now the first seems like the cleaner option.. always shuffling that lighting

Did you do the beams in post or are they some kind of geometry with an emitter?

cylinders with turbulence on emmiter texture node, and marble texture on opacity / with glare and bloom for added effect.. it would be great if we could only do glow on single texture
