I rolled back to RC1 to see if that would work. The scene will open in C4D R14 running version RC1, but will not open in R15 running RC1. The file was originally built in R14.

Will be worth that if you can detect what causes this.
A hint: disable material previews against crashes

Stripped most of the geometry from the scene, but left the materials. You were right in saying its a materials issue. I've attached the stripped down scene below.

Help me ! Reinstalled octane render with laptop ( windows 7 Pro x64) on my home PC ( windows 8.1 Pro x64), set stendelon version - works very well ! Then set the Cinema 4D r15. it works great ! Then tried to install different versions of the plugins for cinema 4d r15 (0,96 / 0.99f / 1.00 RC1) - the same mistake! After installing the plugin , the program starts , but after entering the user name and password for Octane - is an error and shuts down and then not re-enabled . After removing the plug , again Cinema 4D r15 - excellent start. With the demo version of the plugin also works fine ! Tried all that is possible , even reinstalled Windows and all programs - again , this problem persists ! But I do not have "c: \ Users \ USERNAME \ AppData \ Roaming \ MAXON \ Cinema4Dr15_XXXXXXXXXX \ _bugreports \ _BugReport.zip", what would you show ((( error takes Windows (((

You are not alone;) I can confirm all these symptoms for windows 8.1 x64 + R15 too: crash at start(official plugin 0.99f or RC1,RC2), no bugreport log, useless clean install of any geforce driver.
But standalone version works like a charm(activated, rendering).
There is temporary workaround for that from Aoktar: "You can try activate on R14 and run R15." Maybe it helps you.
Octane team works hard to fix this inconsistency with windows 8.1, so stay tuned.

No hangs on RC2 Test1 yet, but i need to render more to make sure.

I am having issues with material previews though. A couple mix materials lock up C4D when clicking on them or trying to move them around the material manager. If i turn off material previews, this does not happen

edit for bugreport. crash every time i turn on material previews when working on certain mix materials
