I get this error only with direct light.

2. I get black textures even with the chess scene.

1. switch to pathtracing and back to directlighting a few times and it should dissapear.
2. disable the 'use vertex normals if available' in the obj import prefs...

looks like we've got a lot of work to do on the weekend for RC2...

Thanks for the command line options.

Btw, (on Linux) I tried multiple variations; ./octane --help, ./octane -h, ./octane --Help, ./octane --HELP, ./octane -?, all went straight into UI.

it's noted, we'll check it for RC2.

For me, on linux, with -h, octane opens without splash screen and display a message about argument error with all the command line options although it takes 15 seconds to get the dialogue (something that always happens when you open the program)

can you tell me which GPU types these are ?

Should be in my signature, but 2x GTS 250
(There is also a GT 220 as nominal display adapter, but I actually access it remotely via VNC Viewer.)

Not so good on the laptop. Benchmark scene with directlighting kernel runs fine, but, from a fresh start, pathtracing kernel stops the driver as soon as rendering starts. There does not appear to be a driver update available for the CUDA Notebook Drivers.

2. This is working
1. I gave up after switching pathtracing and back to directlighting about 20 times

Thanks rad, mib

Testing the vertex normals (from Moi and such) - it's much better now, the polygons are shaded, but there's some kind of weird "shadow" appearing under some angles when I move the camera (see pic). It happens with both daylight and environmental lighting. Test obj attached

Minor bug: the render display shows 60/0 MB memory used even though the device manager detects my total memory correctly
