MDD export seems to offer a lot of benefits for exporting animation, has been developed for quite some and there's an implementation for just about every app available. It would be nice to see this in Octane as an option.

Hi,

There's a plethora of options and everyone wants his, fbx, collada, etc...
Since we've got plugin/scripts with 2.2, and more coming for lightwave, modo, c4d, sketchup etc in the next weeks,
why matter ?

well, the MDD Point Cache bakkes all the mesh deformations (Bones/Morphs/Cloth/Softbody/Muscle/Warps...etc) at point(vertex) level.

Does collada support mesh deformations ?
