no, I actually put new hardware in. my old rig was almost 4 years old.
I had 2 GTX285's on SLI but that didn't work. Now I have 2 GTX770's instead.
Luckiliy it was a planned upgrade.

msciwiarski, I meant you have different OctaneLive login and passes for Standalone and Blender for Octane.
We have to wait for the Otoy guys.

might be other solutions, mine happened to be this upgrade.
I ordered the cards before I purchased octane by the way.

It depends on how old is it. It should support at least cuda 2.0 to work with last Octane SDK's...

As we can find at the CUDA web site https://developer.nvidia.com/cuda-gpus my GTX580 supports Compute Capability 2.0
