Good morning

When I use the plug in to start octane the octane view port is totally black.

The camera is not inside a wall...I checked

I can render in revit using raytrace or mental ray.

any thing I am doing wrong??

Is this happening on every scene - or just one particular scene?

Is Octane Standalone working?

Can you post your cuda drivers, PC spec's, etc pls?

Hi Paul

Yes, this is happening in one revit file.

The other file every thing is fine except for when I open the octane viewport the fov is not similar to revit, (you have answered this for me earlier)

Welcome to Octane. Hope you aren't regretting my recommendation on your purchase.Have you checked that revit lighting material is assigned.
I had similar problem with lights in revit without material attached

Yes, this is happening in one revit file.
What does the Viewport statistics show - is it rendering (ie. the samples increasing), and are there a non-zero number of triangles and meshes? Could you pls post a screenshot of the Viewport (incl the statistics part of the window pls)?

Also, which version and build of Revit? Which Cuda driver version are you on?

Thanks

A screenshot of the blank viewport would help a lot - showing all the statistics in the bottom panel.

If it's an interior scene - you'll need some form of illumination. Either use daylight with some clear windows for the light to get through, or setup emitters (this should be done automatically, however your Revit emission materials may be setup in a way that the plugin is not picking them up).

Just to summarise....the issue is most likely...

a) No geometry is loaded into Octane (the screenshot of the view stats will help identify if this is the case), or

b) There is no lighting in the scene. Check the manual for info on this http://render.otoy.com/manuals/Revit/?page_id=79. Or

c) The camera is in a wall. The Revit near clip distance might be different to the setting in Octane, so try increasing the nearClip slider in the Octane camera. Also, click the Viewport camera navigation button (the camera) and navigate around the scene a little to see if you pop out from the wall.

The scene has geometry and is rendering, so it appears the emitters are not setup correctly. I will look at the sample scene you posted.
