This may be a bit more of a DAZ question - but applies thru to Octane as well:

How do you insert a 2d image into a 3d scene? Originally I added a primitive-cube and chose the diffuse/ambient/opacity, etc to the image. That looks ghosted but close in DAZ - however the 'tiling' doesn't match for the plugin/Octane. Horz and Vert Tile count and offsets don't match.

If there's a better way to insert an image (pretty much as an opaque flat image, but with alpha which is not opaque), please let me know.

thanks,
jim

i'd say no, there isn't; apart from that i'd use a plane, the use together with octane is currently limited by the fact, that mappings in octane currently only support tiling but no offsets - thus you'd need something that exactly fits the primitive...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

1x i7 2600K @5.0 (Asrock Z77), 16GB, 2x Asus GTX Titan 6GB @1200/3100/6200
2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

Ok - that worked out well (plane). As long as the png ratio matches the plane - all is good.
Thanks,
