Hi.
I finally start to use octan and I'm surprised of its speed!!! At the beginning I couldn't find an import option buy the Octane Render 1.0 Beta 1 Overview Video help solve the problem (I think it is not intuitive).
So I start to work with an interior scene. After 30min I wanted to ad a table model (which I forgot) but I couldnt - so first question - where is merge function?
After 40min I decided that I want to erase the curtains - can I delete objects?
These are very necessary functions to design proces - but I can't find it.
Please for help

you make the necessary changes in your host app, export to OBJ, and relink the mesh, keeping your octane project and materials intact.FamilyGuy wrote:Hi.

the relink button is at the end of the mesh node in the node inspector.

just use the swatch and picker.FamilyGuy wrote:Last question - what about RGB colors. I'm used to input values from 1 to 255 and octan let me input values from 0 to 1. Where is the standard parameter?
if you want to use 0-255, you're out of luck as octane works in 0-1 space

you can calculate them with dividing them by 255, then you end up with the octane 0-1 equivalent.

I think that it would be a good option to offer the user the ability to work in 0-255 or 0-1 (and maybe even hexadecimal).radiance wrote:just use the swatch and picker.FamilyGuy wrote:Last question - what about RGB colors. you can type hexadecimal values in the picker that pops up when you click on the rgb node's colour swatch.GeoPappas wrote:I think that it would be a good option to offer the user the ability to work in 0-255 or 0-1 (and maybe even hexadecimal).radiance wrote:just use the swatch and picker.FamilyGuy wrote:Last question - what about RGB colors. yes, just click on your mesh node, you'll find a button with a little icon on it (a little green arrow pointing towards a little disk drive) at the end in the nodeinspector panel (the panel on the right where you change the settings of nodes).joseph wrote:hi, does the relink button exist in beta 2.1?Can you be more specific with the procedure,it is probably sth very simple but I can't figure it out
if you have a lot of materials on your meshnode, you might have to scroll to the end of the list with the scrollbar on the right.
click that button, then select your new OBJ file and it will relink it, keeping the material settings intact, it keeps the materials linked by matching the names of the materials so you need to make sure the new object still has the same material names assigned.
any new materials will be added/imported.
