Hi all,

Here comes the next release of our development cycle towards 1.20, with mainly fixes for bugs reported for 1.12.

Changes since 1.12
  • Added control to make the bokeh in out of focus areas less smooth.
  • Fixed transparent patches on glossy materials with bump or normal mapping.
  • Fixed subsurface scattering for diffuse materials.
  • Updates applied while the renderer is paused are applied after resuming the renderer.
  • Fixed render update after reloading any image.
  • Updated the look of the node graph editor and fixed right-clicking on nodes.
  • Fixed issues with the background image dialog, and added support for reading HDR background images.
  • The node graph editor can be scrolled with the mouse wheel when holding down Control. There is a setting to choose the default action.
  • Fixed possible lockup when using a 3D mouse while rendering a large image.

Neato! Will try this out right away. Thanks guys :)

I notice with pmc and an hdr in the background when you rotate the view the hdr shows through the mesh for a couple of seconds and fades out. Is this as expected? I was using a simple hdr from the demo suite.

Using the new sun model the sun colour changes abruptly from yellow to red when camera/saturation slider gets to 2.24?
I think this will be related to a similar change I reported a while ago in the old model?.

Yes, that's expected. For those pixels where the background shows through, no samples are available yet.

In Camera Node Inspector fov and scale appear to do the same thing. Is this correct? I guess scale is really intended to be for orthographic?
