hi,

the addition of the dirt map is pretty great. i just have a hard time setting it up the right way. as soon as an object gets smooth i get dark areas around my edges. is there a problem with my normals or is there something else i'm doing wrong?

I think there is no problem with your normals, it's how the dirt texture behaves with smoothing at the time...

Hi JimStar

First of all i want to thank you for your good work and caring support on Octane Render for Maya.

I had some Problems working with the new version of your software.
I hope you can help me with that:

When i try to convert the shader, either automatically or manual, it doesnt work right.
It was before, in the older Version 2.58, but with thre new one i dont get it done.
I attached some screenshots to be more precise

Another thing is the "destroyed" Outlines in both versions ( maya and standalone), when generate the Info and Alpha channels.
Please have a look on the screenshots.
Are you working on that issue as well?

Besides that i would like to know:

How can i program my own shader?
Could you give me an example for that?

Are there things coming up like:

Shadow Catcher
HDRI Environment Importance sampling
Object Motion Blur
Camera Motion Blur
Displacement map
Octane Render for Maya LInux

THat would be REALY cool!!!!

Thanks so much for your time and help!!

Best Regards!

Can you please add some detailed comments to these screenshots - what was converted wrong, what was in original, what was the type of original shader, etc...

I think this is a limitation of Octane itself.
Was it possible before?

Something wrong happens with octaneDirtTexture. When I connect it to shaders material swatch turns upside down or doesn't appear at all. (Render view is closed)
