Hello, im new
Do not judge strictly beginner a stupid simple question, but wanted to ask the following:
I downloaded the demo plugin for Maya renderer Octane (http://render.otoy.com/downloads.php). Octane Render has been istalled into Maya 2012.
I press render, the object is simply a sphere, - octane render something calculate:

But in the end only gives a black background with an inscription error (in red at the bottom of the down screenshot):

Sometimes issues - error mesh export:

Please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Create an environment object (OctaneRender pane) then set your daylight model for example or HDRI or just a grey background.
You need something to light your scene as the default light from Mental Ray / Maya renderer is not there.
Then if your scale is too low, it'll appear blurry. You'll need to change the value to 1.0 in the Octane Render settings (Fixed in the latest build of the plug-in)
