ps: I know, there are many details that I have left behind, but I had to move on to complete the remaining images...

Working on a series of 3D images (one hundred) for a client, food is one of the topics I have to cover

i'd like to raise a thumb here!
being one of hundred images it hasn't to be an ultra-realistic masterpiece, but decent and in first place quickly done. and if it serves the clients needs, it is just as good as it needs to be

the bun texture looks blurry - it needs to be sharper, also the bread looks like plastic.

Thanks everyone for your feedback.. They all make sense and you are right about the plastic look... In fact, before delivering the 100 files, I'll tweak the textures settings, I guess the bread need some work with specularity&roughness values..
However t_3 is right about the fact that this is one of a hundred and I just can't spend too much time on each image..
These are other images I am delivering, as you see, some looks better, some worse ... :(
Thanks :)

It is a difficult topic with food. You would need tons of photos to make them a texture or use 1-2-3 Catch to make a series of photos and let the software convert it to a 3d model. Or you would need to model lots of small details to get a 100% look.
also turbosquid models or evermotion could help with lots of models.
If you can get away with this look its okay. Client decides.

For the office, it looks weird just being over white with no shadows. Try making the floor a matte material and compositing.
Sometimes I will render one like that, real quick, then do another with the matte shadows (you can do a clay render so it's faster and you won't need as many samples) so I can toggle the shadows off in Photoshop if I want.

Thanks Kavorka, but the client wants PNG 24 images with transparent background

You can render the matte shadows with the transparent background.
set the floor material as matte then check off keep environment in the kernel.
