I would like if possible that you change the RGB values from 0 to 255 like all other software. currently it is not practical.
see the attached picture.

I guess that would not be the only one wanting this change.

Thank you for the answers users

I agree, this is more user friendly.
What I do now is get the hex code from Photoshop and place it in Octane (this might not help you for what you are doing, obviously).

All others without Houdini, Maya, Modo, Nuke, Softimage.
Also the obj file format uses 0.0 - 1.0 values...

... and going with 8bit rgb values would limit the color space also.
still would be an useful alternative input method.

@Interface: did you know, that RRGGBB values are only approximations for the real RAL colors?
octane - in theory - has the capability to render them much more closely to their real world appearance, if only there was some easy way to calculate the numbers. i once found a page that somehow does such a calculation: http://www.brucelindbloom.com/index.htm ... cHelp.html - it allows you to input the lab color codes of a RAL color, but i never found out what conversion settings would be needed to get the correct decimal rgb representation out of it...
The obvious is that which is never seen until someone expresses it simply

2x i7 2600K @4.5 (P8Z68 -V P), 12GB, 1x EVGA GTX 580 3GB @0900/2200/4400

The best would be to have the value boxes be able to perform simple math calculations like in softimage, example:

typing: 123/255=0.482

That would solve the problem for everyone...

Why fiddling around with 8bit RGB if there was a possibility to enter LAB-Values that octane translates via colormanagement into the target colorspace (srgb for now)?

+1 for LAB as color input and support for alternative colorspaces.

Another usefull node would be a fonction or math node like multiply, divide substract... working with Float and integer input
