Hi guys, just a question is it possible to render any animation using any of the kernels? as i saw a lot of people use more direct light+difuse, does pmc works with this too or it makes artifacts?
thanks!!

It depends on the scene of course, but anything other than direct light just takes too long.
There is no other reason. You can use pcm if you want to. It's not very reasonable though.
I'm using direct light + AO and I'm happy about it. Geting good results.

And? Use some extra lights behind the camera, if needed, cheat a little.
Render a reference frame out with pmc and try to tweak direct light to get similar lighting conditions.

So far i did not get reasonable results with DirectLighting/AO
Could you post an example?

You understand we are talking about animations and not stills, right?

I uploaded an example for you.
Rendered with direct light + AO, 2 min per frame with one GTX 560.

wow, really impressive..can you give me some details, like scene scale, and samples per pixel? thanks!

The scene is in real life scale. 3 meters from floor to ceiling or smth like that.
I don't remember the amount of samples though. I rendered it a while ago. If I don't use many specular materials, then most of my scenes with AO look good at 500 to 1500 samples. Smth in that range.

you encountered any gpu memory issues or loss of performance in the latest build launching a render sequence?

I have to start an animation and I need 10 days of computing (pmc) and 3000 frames.
