Hi Buzby,
You can still run octane on all NVIDIA cards even the ones used for display. You just might find that the UI starts to slow down and therefore you can't use windows very well while the card is rendering.
The 3770k has the HD4000 inbuilt into it - not the motherboard (well, obviously there is some interface with the motherboard as there are video outputs on it, but the GPU is built into the CPU).
What do you see when you right click the desktop - select screen resoltion, click advanced settings?
Have a look there, what is listed under "list all modes"?
Also under the monitor tab, what is listed there, and is the "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" selected?

good suggestions and you are correct un-checking "hide modes that this monitor cannot display" gave me the option to go to 1920x1080, sadly my monitor will not do any of the settings in that range or less. I am stuck at 1280x800 if I want to use the hd4000 which I wont do.
The monitor is listed as "generic " on the 4000HD so it is not recognizing that it is a Cinema HD but is listed as Cinema HD on the GTX580. I tried to find drivers for the Cinema HD thinking it would help but I think I am going to resign myself to letting this small gain go as the trade off is just not worth it.
I am alright using one of the 580GTX for the display as this is my home computer and I can leave it running while I go to work so I'm good.

If you need to, you can disable that 580GTX in the Octane preferences while working and then re enable it when you are doing your final render for maximum performance.buzby wrote:FooZe wrote:Hi Buzby,
