Hi everyone,
Does anybody know how to make wireframe render with octane? I really need it, but I don't know how.
Thanx.

Using a photorealistic render just for rendering wireframe views ? Isn't it a weird idea ?

Roubal, I agree. As for me, in this case internal render would be enough or just a printscreen, but the situations may be different...

simple retexture your object with a UV snapshot
But you have to avoid overlaying UVs of course (layout as properly as possible).

I need a special layer in photoshop to create creative background... I wanna use all things can get from octane. I just wanna know is it possible or notROUBAL wrote:Using a photorealistic render just for rendering wireframe views ? Isn't it a weird idea ?

I just remember that there is a script for Blender, somewhere, creating a mesh with slim actual faces looking like a wireframe. This kind of mesh would be renderable in Octane. I just don't remember the script. Maybe it is also doable with a modifier... not time currently to try all myself, but it could be an idea.

If your object is simple, you can use the skin modifier to create a wireframe representation. But don't do it if it's a heavy mesh, cause you'll be waiting a long time before its generated...

There is (or was) an addon called "WireRender & WireSolid modes" that I have in my folder, but I can't find it on the Blender scripts catalog anymore. I put a copy in my dropbox for you, in case you're interested in trying to get it to work. I have not had such luck in my hours of experimentation with it. I have, however, seen a few images of it working in Cycles and BI. It generates mesh data, so it should definitely work in Octane.
