Hi everyone,

I saw a thread with issues regarding the batch render function not working, but I don't seem to be having the same issues error-message wise.
Truthfully, I may just not be setting it up correctly...but I'm not doing anything differently than I would for another render engine, I don't believe.

Anyway, I'm in maya 2012, have both the standalone & plugin running & activated as far as I can tell, newest versions. The liveDB works fine in maya, as does the ipr view.
However, when I do a batch render, it either renders 1 frame & stops, or says "render complete" when I render a frame that's already finished previously in the viewport...it never goes to the next frame though. I have my render settings setup for a 1-96 frame range, and have my settings in-place as well (as far as I can tell).

Any help would be great, as I'd love to be able to let it render away.

Thanks so much!

John

I need more info to understand what is going on in your system...
Please, enable "Verbose mode" in Octane settings, delete mayaRenderLog.txt before starting batch, and then post here this mayaRenderLog.txt created after batch is finished. Your Octane settings will be needed too, you can post the screenshots of settings tabs here.

Hi, and thanks so much for the prompt reply. I took the screenshots & reset / ran the .txt file before I headed off to work today, so hopefully this will give you the info you need.

Re-running this time, I am noticing that I am getting the same "This account is currently activated on another machine."
However, I've never ran it on another machine...neither the standalone or the plugin. :-/

I'm definitely still not counting out that I may be setting something up incorrectly...thank you again for all your help! :)

Here's the text from the file:

Yes, it is the same problem as the previous user has... It looks like the engine activation issue...
I will ask the engine-team about it, thank you for info.

Perfect, thank you.

In the meantime (if it isn't a simple fix and might take a while to resolve), could you maybe let me know what beta versions of Octane & the Maya Plugin will play well together to where I will be able to batch render, if they happen to know?\
I'll post in the other thread to try and see what versions the other user was using as well.

Thank you again,

John

JimStar, is there by chance a place I can go to download the versions that Rory has working for the batch renderer?
"johnB,

it was Maya Plugin 3.03g Beta,
and Standalone 2.58e

Rory"

Sorry for the hassle; I'm just in need of kicking off some batch renders pretty quick here & want to make sure I'm leaving myself enough time for revisions & review.

Batch Render aside...great stuff so far. :)

This release does not exist anymore for downloading...
Can you try to start the batch render such a way: set all needed settings, save scene, close Maya, then right-click on file, pick "Render"... Will it work for you?..

PS. I have said about it to engine developers...

unfortunately, I see the "this account is already registered" dialog fly by when in command prompt, before it closes the command prompt window and spits me back out.
Wonderful suggestion though. :)
Hopefully something will present itself soon!
