I use GIMP to create most of my textures. You export the object UV grid to a .png, open it in GIMP and paint there whatever you need.

Ah I meant painting on top of a 3d model sorry.

Also what are the chances of them putting in better UV tools into Octane? I know cycles has an easy way to do what I wanna do with it's node based system >.>

I would unwrap your box, make another UV space and paint your tiled texture onto the new space (use a large image). Then bring that into GIMP and paste your text where it needs to go (save your UVs as a .PNG and overlay it in GIMP to see where your text needs to go). now you have a non tiled texture that looks exactly like it does now.

Alright may as well. Btw does Octane support displacement? Like in C4D?

As of right now, it doesn't.
You can either use the displacement map and apply it so you have pure geometry, or use it to create a normal map and use the normal map in Octane.

(I havent tried either of these, but it should work)

Oh okay, I've seen the normal mapping done on a tutorial here, is it just a better bump map/fake displacement?

it adds a lot more than bump. you can make a very low poly object look almost exactly like your your high poly (displacement applied) object.

Ah I see, It's so interesting that normal maps can do that.
