I figured Octane does not yet have a shadow catcher and have been reading threads regarding techinques (some). Then I did a test using a green-screen-ish setup which worked pretty well for a simple setting like this (It could very possibly be that this has been posted before, but I didn't take the time to check all current shadow catcher threads :) ):

not sure exactly what you're doing here.

Basically keying out the green color like with a regular greenscreen :)

nice, old school :),
chroma key compositing look it up,
I think it hasn't been posted before, so, this is a good reminder/tip on how to workaround the shadow catcher properly

Here is another example where I used a red screen instead of a greenscreen (Mostly because the LAV was green-ish). This time I also animated and tracked it onto a real life plate just to see how effective it was in this type of scenario.
