1 Million Rain Drops...

For a far more impressive extreme instancing test see the trees by Karba - pushing 3million instances with the 3Ds Max plugin!

Have you ever wonder what 1 million rain drops would look like rendered?
Well.... i have and so i did this (thanks to instancing):

My reasons were two fold:
1) I wanted to stress test the instancing build to see what the limitations were.
2) Because it is now possible with instancing!

There are 1million instances of a 960 triangle drop shaped mesh:

Not exactly artistic, but hopefully this will be fun for some people to see!

(blender with emitter surface set such that all 1million drops were in motion and almost all visible in frame)
