Long time no render updates from me :D

Current wip project; "fantasy" knight character. I'm going for a more realistic approach to armor design, though not strictly. I'm modeling piece by piece, cause I'm really not proficient in sculpting non-organic things, so good ol' polygon modeling approach FTW!

The materials are just makeshift, I plan to do something better in the end.

C&C are welome!

Just some fast & dirty armor "sketches". I discarded all of them.

Arms are mostly done now. I took the most unrealism liberty for the couter - it's probably not a efficient design from the defense pov, but I like it. I don't want a full plate armor - I want some chainmail to hang loose, that's why I didn't connect the vambrace & couter together. The chain-mail body is there just to provide context

cool, the chainmail looks like it could use more bump, or geometry

Next update, legs. The sabatons need some more refining in shape, but mostly this is it.

@Hatak, thanks. I'll show the textures & UV at the end - when it will be put together. For now this is impossible, as everything is in individual pieces and materials are just temporary.

Next update, helmet & gorget. The feathers detail is there just for fun, I most likely wont include it in the final model.

Modeling mostly finished (minus weapons and possible cloak). If anyone has critics about armor design, now is the time to talk, before I start to unwrap & texture paint ;)

Materials are still not finalized (chain-mail too)

Does anyone have ideas on how to get rid or attenuate the ugly black shading on smooth shaded lowpoly models?

I would like to make the lowpoly presentation of this project with Octane too, but that "shading errors" are kinda ruining it:
