Hi, I have in my PC system following graphics card:
NVidia Quadro FX 5800 (driver version: 9.18.13.4144) with 4GB memory, using the same chipset GT200 like the NVidia GTX Cards. On my Dell system works only this card or a Tessla Card. So it is important for me to know why I (in Octane Render in Poser) get this error under the "Show Log" under Cuda Devices. The error message is: "Device 0: failed to find a matching binary CUDA compute model 1.3" (???)
What is the correct driver for this card, so Octane works without hesitation on my computer? My currently installed card is the second best card (after Tessla) that exist on the market. All GTX cards are consumer cards, during which my installed card is a professional graphics card. But should be also able to operate Octane Render for such cards?
Perhaps somebody knows a help for me, which drivers I need to install on my Nividia QWuadro FX card so Octane runs without any Problems.
Thank you very much for your help and effort.

Hi, this card is to old, I fear.
Octane need at least a Compute Capability Model 2.0 and even this is old (GTX 500).
I got a GTX 670 2GB used for 90€, for example, it is not high end but you can work with it.

Cheers, mib

Hi Nuno 1980,
thank you very much for your links.

My great problem is, that I can't take newer graphics card in my 8 years old Dell System, because they are not running on my System (DDR2) and crashes - they don't run. Only my Quadro FX 5800 or an Tessla card (which I can't pay for) would run on my Dell Precision.

But now I know, I can't buy Octane, because it's not running with my card and my System - I am very sad. about. But the old demo doesn't help very much, because I can't buy octane, because the actual version isn't running...or?
I love software which is also backwards compatible, without someone is forced to create an entirely new system.
Greetings and thanks for your help.

Hi Amigo968,
surely, the Quadro FX 5800 was a fantastic card when was introduced some years ago, but as mib2berlin said, compute model 1.3 is too old for the latest versions of Octane.
You can try with the old v1.2 demo, as nuno said, but the good news is that Octane, since is single precision, gives the best with GTX cards, from 9xx to Titan X, while Quadro are very good for display. So you can continue to use your fantastic Quadro FX 5800 for your monitors and add one or more GTX for Octane only ;)
ciao beppe
