I'm a photographer and use Octane to make plates for my studio shooting... in fact ... I'm trying. ;)

My workflow : I buy 3D assets in DAZ studio or some Kitbash3D, redo all materials and render in Octane.

Most of the time my lights are material with emissive applied to a part of an objet ...

I understand totally the subscription license, I have the same for my Adobe software... but you (OTOY) can not give us a roadmap here, that are so much inaccurate and not explain us a bit.

The subscription license appeared one year ago... in only one year you are already 8 months late...

You have to understand than half of the first batch of the 2080ti have been thrown away, because of faulty VRAM... they have to test by hand EVERY card now... that's why avaibility is problematic now. But it's better, than receiving a defective card.

If only i could actually could buy them :evil: Ordered 2 on 19th September, been told lately they are supposed to be available on 21th October. Meanwhile, i can see them stock here in Europe on caseking, overclockers or alternate, but my reseller takes it slow...

I have received my RTX2080ti. I'm using it with a 980ti and a 1080... a,d so far everything is working great.

A scene which took 2min30s for a frame (with the 1080 + 980ti), now takes 31s

No crash, what so ever.

I'm using the last NVIDIA Driver and cuda 10.

New RTX will be ~30% faster than Pascal running CUDA API but running Vulkan API, RTX will be 6x~8x faster than Pascal. :)

Sure but will Octane still be the unbiased Octane we love using the new APIs??

Because Octane is not a Game... I listen more the Octane dev, who have already tried the RTX cards... than the journalists who speculate
