I'll open a new thread about alpha maps. I don't fill up other threads with general questions.
First, i can't get it to work. What i now/have, alpha maps don't work with sunlight and I'll should put a floatimage
in the opacity slot.
These are my diffuse and alpha maps:

Any help is welcome, mib

Hi,

I don't understand your question.
just make a material, stick the diffuse map on the diffuse slot as a 'image texture' and stick the opacity map in the opacity slot as a 'floatimage'. use invert option if needed to switch the white/black for the opacity.

it should work just like that.

yes, that is true.. I've just tried

Sun doesn't cast shadow based on alpha but that was reported 15 min after beta2 was released! :) So other than that you should check your system!

oh linux.... can't help with that! But one thing I notice... if you want to 'clip' the geometry thru alpha you need to put the power in 1.0 instead of the default 0.9. That was giving me strange results with the default value (ie little transparent all over the leaf)

Thanks, I screw on all possible faders but the plane goes only more or less visible.

May it is a OS problem, mib

have you tried using an 'image' node instead of a 'floatimage' ?
although it's not recommended as it uses more video memory, would be handy just to check it.

What am I doing wrong?
The leafs are cuted with alpha, but they create a non masked shadow... :|

PS: I was trying to upload an image, but I think the server is too busy... I'll try later.
