Is it possible to use png, tga transparency in octane?
I think I read something about in the forum but I can't find it again.
I need it for Plants.

Hi,

This is possible using opacity maps, which is supported in beta2, which will be available saturday.
just a few days of patience :)

But we need to create a dedicated opacity map or we can use the alpha channel of a PNG file?

currently it's a dedicated image.
i could add png alpha channel support in beta3.

Will glossy material get diffuse transmission channel in beta2 so we can make leaves with fake sss?

I don't think it's a kind of sss. Just a regular maped opacity.

Yes I know that:) Diffuse material has diffuse transmission channel so you can use it for some fake sss effects. It's discussed in this thread. Radiance said that he will do the same thing for glossy mat which will be excellent feature for leaf material, beside opacity maps ofkorz:).
