Where are we with strands exporting correctly?

I just tried to bring some strands into Ocatne, and I see nothing. This could mean I'm doing something wrong -- or is it not possible yet?

Strands must have an instance shape.
Otherwise, you can send me the scene to check...

The problem is, for cobwebs you need a lot of tiny strands. Have used the compound and make an image with around 4.7mio tris.
I can send you the SI scene if you want...

I realize this is more of a Softimage related thing -- but I wasn't aware that you could deform an instance shape along a strand. If instance shape node is used, the object doesn't conform to the bends in the strands -- unless there's something I don't know about.

Can someone explain this to me?

After looking at the scn file in this thread, all is clear to me now...

---edit -- actually its perplexing. When I try to making strand instance geometry in any of my own scenes, I just get the non-deformed instance object stuck to the point origins.

Maybe you can send a simple test?
