Hi everyone,
I’m new to OctaneRender and to this forum, so I wanted to introduce myself and ask a beginner question. I’ve been experimenting with Octane for a small animation project, and while I’m impressed with the render quality, I’m still unsure about the best settings for efficient animation output.
Right now I’m using Octane 2023 + Blender plug-in, and I’m noticing that my render times per frame vary quite a bit depending on lighting complexity. I’ve read about using Adaptive Sampling, Camera Imager settings, and different GI Clamp values, but I’m not confident about which settings are safe for animation without causing flickering.
What are the most important render settings to stabilize lighting and avoid flicker in an animation sequence? For scenes with a lot of glossy surfaces, is Path Tracing or PMC better in practice? Is there a recommended workflow for testing noise levels before committing to a full sequence render?
Any guidance, tips, or general best practices for animation rendering in Octane would be hugely appreciated. Looking forward to learning from the community!
