Sorry if this is not the right subforum for this version, the only one that said Blender didn't allow me to post, and I went up and down the forums list and didn't see any for the Blender Prime Edition.
I've been using Blender for about a year and a half now, and I thought I would give the Octane version a try, since someone from Otoy support told me that I could keep the regular Blender installed as well. So I installed the Blender Octane version, then the Prime Server app. But a weird thing happened. When I go to the programs menu and I launch the Blender Octane version (once I activated it using the server app), it launches a command prompt window, and the Blender version it launches is the regular one. I know that for a fact, because I have that version on my task bar, so I see the icon for it as the one that has the focus and the little indicator showing that it's open. And If get the properties for that icon, it shows me that it's the version at "C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 4.4\blender-launcher.exe".
So I tried to force it, and just launch it from "C:\Program Files\OctaneBlender30.5.0\blender.exe" and the blender-launcher.exe (not sure why it has two executables that open Blender), but it doesn't open THAT version, it still opens the regular version! And the version that opens, at first doesn't even have Octane as a render choices besides Eevee, Workbench and Cycles. So I go into the preferences to see if there's an add-on for Octane, and there is, so I activate it. Now I see Octane as a render choice, but at the same time, some things are odd, like for example, under kernel presets, if I click on it, it says "* Missing Paths *", and in the shader editor, there is a list of Octane nodes to add, but if I add an Octane Material Output, it only has the choices "All", "Eevee" and "Cycles", when I believe it should have "Octane" as well, right?
So I was wondering if there was anything else I need to do here for things to work as intended.
