CHANGES SINCE LAST RELEASE
- Updated to version number to 30.0
- Updated to Octane 2025.1.Beta1
- Added/Updated 2025 nodes
- Implemented the rest attribute
- Implemented the realistic camera
- Implemented the decal
NEW FEATURE: Rest Attribute
Enable the "Add Reset Position" option in the Object Data Property then all will be done automatically.
For the exported Orbx, all will be done automatically to support the rest attribute.
For the exported Alembic, users need to select "From file" option to make it work. This is probably an engine bug and I believe it will be fixed in the coming versions.
NEW FEATURE: Realistic Camera
- Please use "Realistic lens" option to enable the Realistic camera.
- Select the realistic camera type.
- The "Focal Length" of the Blender's lens camera will be updated automatically. Please do not change it manually.
You can toggle the Decal Wireframe on the viewport header.
FIXES SINCE LAST RELEASE
- Fixed Perspective Correction option
- Added "Keep up-vector vertical" for lens camera
- Add an option to exclude AOVs from being saved to EXR
- New layout for the Octane info in the preview
- Object Layer node
- Fixed LocalDB Materials loading issues
- Fixed Correction node Brightness issue
- Fixed issue: using Custom 20 AOV makes the server crash on render
- Fixed issue: Global Texture 20 AOV makes the server crash on render
- Implemented OCIO View List missing in the Compositor Imager node
- Fixed Transformations in Octane Scatte
NEW FIX: Add an option to exclude AOVs from being saved to EXR
An "Export Render Pass Settings" is added on the Octane Output panel. Click the button then a Standalone-like panel will be shown and user can configure their export AOVs there.
NEW FIX: Perspective Correction option not working
When the "Persp. Correction" is enabled, a "Keep up-vector vertical" option will be shown.
Enable it to make sure the "Persp. Correction" work as expect. Besides, "Keep up-vector vertical" is only valid when "Persp. Correction" is enabled.
Please note this "vertical change" may cause differences between rendered image and Blender viewport.
You can read about new features of OctaneRender™ 2025.1 Beta 1 here:

The installation consists from two parts:
1. OctaneRender™ Server
2. Blender - OctaneRender™ edition
After starting OctaneServer it will take some time before the LiveDB tree and LiveDB material previews will be available from Blender - as OctaneServer caches the LiveDB data from remote server right after starting. But only the materials groups tree will be re-cached every time after server start, LiveDB material preview images will be cached only once - so only the very first OctaneServer start will need some more time before LiveDB tree will be available in Blender.
After the server is run - you can start rendering (or open a rendered view) from inside Blender.
