Octane Integration with Houdini and Greyscale Gorilla

Hi everyone,

This might not be the appropriate place to post this request, but since OTOY has again partnered with Greyscale Gorilla, is it possible to pressure GSG to make their Studio App able to set up materials with Octane nodes in Houdini? As of now, only Karma and Redshift are supported in their Studio app. I feel adding this functionality would be greatly beneficial to many of us Octane users.

Indeed. I was just checking Black Friday Bundle if I should pick it or not, since I have Redshift license at moment and I have no idea how well Octane works with Houdini these days.
At least Bundle should give a great value even GSG Plus alone so maybe I should pick it and hope it to support Octane at some point.

Yeah, this is the wrong sub-thread to ask about it You could approach GSG and see what they say, as they would have to do the work.

I figured as much, but thanks for the response. A while ago, I did ask them about it on their YouTube channel, this is the response I got.

"Thanks for the question. We are always looking at what our customers are using. Octane is not yet supported in Houdini, but it is on our radar for future support. Thanks for letting us know."

So it doesn't sound that urgent to them, unfortunately... And Octane IS supported in Houdini, just not on the level of RedShift yet.
