you could personalize your C4D Layout by adding the Octane Node Editor command, so you just need a click on it to show the selected material in Octane Node Editor : ciao,

I like having the Octane Node Editor at the top of the contextual menu when right-clicking on a material in the Material Manager. In the Menu Manager it's called M_MATERIAL_POPUP1. This makes for quick access to the Octane Node Editor for the specific material clicked on.

Also "auto load materials" is a good option to work faster, just a note for peeps who don't know it.
